Congratulations on your engagement! How did you and Adam meet?
Libby and Adam, are a couple that have been destined to be together. “Me and Adam met first when we went to primary school together, we then went to different secondary schools and eventually bumped into each other on a New Years Eve night out!” Like they say…’Everything happens for a reason!’
Can you tell us about your proposal?
A festive proposal was the universes plan for Libby. “The proposal was super sweet, thoughtful and intimate at our home on Christmas morning. I had no idea it was about to happen – Adam had set up a treasure hunt across the house and outside eventually taking me to a present which was a wedding planner, I then went to run down stairs and he was on one knee! It was absolutely perfect for us.”
How did you imagine your wedding?
I knew what colours I wanted and I knew I wanted lots of foliage and flowers. The colours we chose were gold white and green. It all came together so beautifully, the aim was to keep it elegant but with a hint of “us”.”
Was the dress a style you though you’d go for?
Like many brides, Libby’s dress took her by surprise! “I always thought I would have a more figure hugging gown but I ended up falling in love with a Stella York flowy, glitter nude and lace number! My mom and mother in law both shed a tear so I knew it was the one.”
What ‘wedding look’ did you want you and your bridesmaids to have?
“So we all did our own makeup, we went for natural colours, nude lip and wispy eyelashes. Our hair was stunning – I bought some pearl hair stickers and we all wore them in different areas so we tied in. I had my hair down and the girls went for hair up. My aim was the girls to be comfortable and also like the way they looked – I didn’t want to take away their personality!”
Can you tell about choosing your venue?
When you know, you know… Libby and Adam had no trouble choosing their venue. “We booked our venue before we even visited it and we both knew it was where we wanted to have our reception. It was at Athelhampton House – beautiful grounds and a stunning Manor House for people to explore.”
What advice would you give to future MB brides?
“I would say to future brides to keep an open mind and try on different styles, even ones that you don’t think will work for you as you may be surprised.”
Can you tell me the highlight of your day and anything you would’ve done differently?
“The highlight of the special day was seeing both lots of families and all our friends together in one room, it was amazing to have got to share the day with our loved ones.Another thing we did was include our dog in the wedding without really having him there. We had him on our wedding cake, part of the wedding order of service as an honorary groomsman, and even had someone take care of him for the day and bring him down to the church specifically in time for our confetti throw! We held a viewing party for all of our photos and videos with our close family with a few drinks and food – it was so good to recap the day and see it from our guests perspective and also because the day went so fast it’s something to keep hold of and treasure!
I have no regrets for everything we did on our wedding day, however my one piece of advise is to read reviews on all of your suppliers before booking! Just because they are more expensive, or even less expensive, doesn’t mean they provide the same result.”
