Wedding Dress Terms & Conditions

Customers are asked to carefully read our Terms and Conditions below.

PAYMENT OF ORDER.

a) Customers are required to pay a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE initial payment on the date of ordering a bridal gown.

b) When purchasing a gown from the rail rather than ordering 100% must be paid and the gown taken home on purchase.

c) ALL ITEMS REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF MINSTER BRIDAL UNTIL PAID FOR IN FULL and may not be removed from the premises until full payment is received.

d) Monies are NOT REFUNDABLE or transferable to other orders. Once goods are ordered you have no rights if you simply change your mind (Sale of Goods Act 1979).

e) Customers should retain their sales contracts, and any other receipts as proof of purchase, and be sure to have read these TERMS AND CONDITIONS and fully understand the obligations herein.

f) All items purchased including gowns and all accessories are nonreturnable/refundable.

CANCELLATION OF ORDERS

a) Customers who cancel their sales contract are NOT entitled to a refund of ANY monies already paid up to and including the cancellation date. Please be aware that once gowns are ordered minimum cancellation periods from suppliers apply to Minster Bridal, and under NO circumstances can this be changed. Gown orders will still have to be paid for in FULL, if the wedding is cancelled for whatever reason. Costs will still be incurred to the suppliers and to Minster Bridal- regardless of ANY circumstance.

b) For reasons of hygiene ALL ACCESSORIES- (tiaras, hair slides, earrings)-including shoes, which have been removed from the premises once paid for cannot be refunded or exchanged.

c) Shoes ordered for sizing must be tried on in store so they can be exchanged in the condition received and within the time period set by the supplier if another size/style is required.

SIZING

a) At the time of ordering, the customers body measurements will be taken. The customer’s order form will state what size gown will be ordered and if the gown is being made to measure by the designer or if a standard size is being ordered. NOTE: not all designers offer a made to measure service.

b) After the sales order contract has been signed and order placed. Minster Bridal CANNOT AND WILL NOT accept any responsibility in respect of any changes which may occur to the Customers body measurements.

c) It is the customers responsibility to communicate any significant changes to measurements as soon as possible.

d) Whilst gowns can be taken in by a seamstress, it is NOT recommended that a gown is taken in more than a maximum of 2 sizes as this will adversely change the style and fit of the gown.

e) Gowns cannot be made larger by a seamstress.

DELIVERY OF ORDERS

a) Minster Bridal cannot provide an exact delivery date for orders. Gowns will be delivered to the shop between 5 and 10 months from the original order date. This is dependent on current demands and will
vary between designers.

b) Minster Bridal will be able to give an approximate indication of a delivery month at the time of ordering, but this cannot be guaranteed and can change according to the designers’ commitments.

c) In the very unlikely event that a gowns delivery will not meet the intended wedding date, Minster Bridal cannot be held responsible.

d) You will be notified by phone or email once your gown has arrived in store.

d) The Customer must pay the remaining balance of the order within 4 weeks of the delivery date.

ALTERATIONS

a) The purchase price of all gowns and accessories EXCLUDES all costs in respect of alterations or fitting work howsoever this service is provided.

b) Fittings and alterations will not be carried out on any gown that is not fully paid for, under any circumstances.

c) Minster Bridal can recommend the services of a local seamstress who provides independent alterations services but recommends that brides undertake their own due diligence with regard seamstress services.

d) Customers of Minster Bridal are not obliged to use the recommended seamstress for alterations, and any contract for fitting & alterations is wholly with your selected seamstress.

e) Payments for alterations services and fittings will be payable to your chosen seamstress directly.

f) It is the sole responsibility of the customer to make contact their chosen seamstress to arrange fitting appointments directly. Minster Bridal cannot guarantee availability of appointments with seamstresses. We recommend that appointments are booked in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment’.

g) It is advisable to undertake fitting & alterations with the shoes and underwear intended to be worn on the wedding day, although you should discuss this with your selected seamstress.

h) Minster Bridal cannot be held responsible for the alterations work carried out by the recommended seamstress, or any other seamstress selected.

STORAGE & COLLECTION

a) Minster Bridal are not able to provide long term storage of customers wedding dresses. All customer wedding dresses MUST be collected and paid for in full within 30 days of the dress arriving in store. The
customer will be notified straight away when the dress arrives in store.’

b) When you collect your gown, you will have the opportunity to inspect the gown and check it is inacceptable condition. You will also be shown/told how to properly fasten the dress and bustle it if
applicable.

c) All gowns must be cared for properly and handled with the correct care and attention. Minster bridal will not be held accountable for issues with the gown associated with mishandling or lack of care and
attention when handling the gown.

d) If customers do not collect their goods after 3 months of trying to make, contact the contract will be deemed cancelled without any further notification and any monies paid will not be refunded. Gowns
will be put into the shops stock to be re-sold.

LIABILITY

a) Minster Bridal will NOT be liable for any event caused by circumstances outside Minster Bridal’s control, including, but not restricted to Acts of God, war, riot, terrorism, malicious damage, fire, flood, storm or other extreme weather.

b) Once the gown is handed over, full responsibility is handed over to the customer. Minster Bridal cannot be held responsible for any damage caused once the items are taken from the premise.
