When and how did you and your partner meet?
Chris and Michaela’s story, really does show that true love can cross oceans! “We met in Cala Millor in Mallorca, I was on a girls holiday and he was on a lads golfing holiday. We were staying at the same hotel and we met around the pool on our first day! 2 weeks after we got back home, Chris came to visit me and the rest is history” “We had gone back to Rhodes which is where we had our first holiday together as a couple and Chris proposed at Lindos Acropolis, it was very romantic but I thought I was going to die as had just hiked up to the top in 30 degree heat and needed water haha!!”
Did you have an inspiration for the theme of your wedding?
“Our theme was, romantic and floral using light pink, white, gold and greenery as our colour palette.”
What bridal look did you go for on the day?
If you’re debating a glamorous bridal style, then Michaela is the bride for your inspiration! “I absolutely knew I wanted a fitted dress, although everything else about it was so different to what I had imagined. My favourite element of the dress was the lace pattern and the train!” “I wanted to look glamorous! I went for a glam make up look with a subtle winged liner and fake lashes and with my hair, I went for a glamorous curl style.”
What was it about your venue that drew you in?
“I spent years living near Rhinefield House and always dreamt of getting married there. I just hoped Chris loved it as much as I did.. thankfully he did.”
What advice would you give future brides when looking for their dress?
“To allow the Bridal stylist to choose as many dresses as possible that aren’t what you “think” you want as they know what suits brides the most. And to have the confidence to trust them and try those wildcard gowns!!” We do love a wildcard!
What was your routine / plan the night before?
Sometimes a girls night is just what you need and that’s exactly what Michaela did. “I stayed in a suite at the hotel with my bridesmaids and we had such a giggle together. They tried to help me stay calm and relax and it was lovely to have that girl time the night before.”
What was your highlight of the special day?
“I can’t pinpoint a highlight, the whole day was everything I had ever imagined and more!” “If I could change anything.. it would be to have a whole wedding week, because one day is not enough haha!” Perhaps wedding weeks could be the next seasons trend!
How did it feel looking back at your wedding phots / videos?
“Emotional! And amazing seeing all these moments we didn’t see on the day! To see each other getting ready and before the moment I walked down the aisle. To seeing all our loved ones enjoying themselves.”
Is there any advice you would give?
“Just to advice future brides on not to stress the small stuff as people really won’t notice! Also, sit back and take in every single moment because when people say it goes fast, it sure does!! Faster than fast! And spend as much time together as possible on the day as it is your special day after all. Take all those moments in together.”
What was your first dance song?
Christina Perri – A thousand years We chose this as after we had got engaged, every time we got in the car to go somewhere, it came on the radio. And it just felt like there was a reason why it was always playing when we were together! And then we took time to listen to the words, it just felt so right!
