When and how did you and your partner meet?
Becky and Sam have celebrated their love story, years after meeting back in school. “We met when we were young at school, we’ve always been friends he was year above me! Me and my friend started hanging with his friends from there the rest is history! We’ve now been together 12 years with a baby boy and FINALLY married.”
Little did Becky know, a festive and heart felt proposal was being planned for her.”We went to Mudeford Quay on Christmas Eve like we always have and always did as friends. He popped the question!”
Did you have an inspiration for the theme of your wedding?
“Yes I wanted classic, simple and elegant. It was exactly what I hoped for.”
Was the style of gown that you chose, what you always imagined or did it surprise you?
Like many brides, Becky wasn’t sure on what style she wanted. If you’re in this position, don’t panic as our stylists will use their knowledge and expertise to guide you through your journey. “I really didn’t know what I wanted. I tried so many on, where I’m quite small I felt drowned to begin with other shops was bad experiences I started to feel awful even going into one. I saw on Instagram Minster Bridal has a free slot the next day so I asked my mum and off we went. The lady in shop advised me to try a Martina Liana one on. I did and didn’t like it at first. She then changed the belt and it changed the whole look. It was so beautiful and I never would’ve chosen it myself.”
What was the hair and makeup look you wanted to achieve with your artist(s)?
“I had Grace Bailey do my hair in Hollywood waves to the side everything I wanted. And it lasted all night!My sisters friend is a beautician she done my make up perfect. Exactly how I wanted it.
What was it about your venue that drew you in?
“We got married at Kings Arms Christchurch. It was beautiful. Everything in one place! But different places at the same time.We got married in the pavilion and it was stunning with all fairy lights. White roses green foliage.Then the wedding breakfast and evening in the the priory.”
What advice would you give future brides when looking for their dress?
“Try ALL options. Even if you think you won’t like it. They look completely different on the hanger, you might surprise yourself with what you end up with!”
Did you have a favourite element of your dress?
“The dress was beautiful, I loved it but the 3D veil just topped the whole look off!” Veils often are an element brides don’t consider until suggested in their appointments. We would 100% recommend trying on veils before ruling them out. You never know, it could be your WOW factor and favourite element, like Becky’s!
What was your routine / plan the night before?
“Me and my sisters went for a Thai! We had Prosecco in the hotel and watched the wedding that was on out the window! We had the best time.”What was your highlight of the special day?“Having our little boy there, he was 5 months old, now he’s nearly 1!”
Looking back, would you do anything differently?
“No it worked out perfectly, even after 2 cancellations due to covid. It was the best day I wouldn’t change a thing.”
How did it feel looking back at your wedding phots / videos?
“Amazing! We had Darren Lovell to do our photos and he was so kind and such a lovely person. We enjoyed having him as a part of our day, and our phots were incredible.”
What was your first dance song?
Brett young – in case you didn’t know. Very random but means a lot to us.
