FIND A BOUTIQUE THAT HAS AN IN-HOUSE SEAMSTRESS OR DRESSMAKER

At Minster Bridal we offer in-house seamstress services and the owner of the shop is a dressmaker! This means that when your Bridal Stylist helps you to find your dream gown, they will have so much knowledge of the changes that can be made to a dress by the in-house seamstress. For example, how the neckline or straps can be changed, bead work that can be added or removed to fabrics and suggestions for matching custom made accessories such as capes and veils. Explain the vision you are trying to create and let your bridal stylist help you create your dream look. Sometimes a little imagination is needed to visualize what your dream gown will look like once the seamstress has finished, but trust the professionals, by using an in-house service they will know your dress inside out as they will have worked on the dress before and hundreds of times on dresses by the same designer. They will know how to work with the fabrics and methods used by the designer and your alterations will be perfect! Here is the beautiful Amy who got married this year in her gown by Stella York. Our in-house seamstress team lined the sheer panels on the sides of the dress to give more coverage, changed the shape of the bust and created this stunning simple veil with a lace trim to match the dress.

At Minster Bridal we work closely with some fabulous designers who allow customisations to their dresses that can be incorporated when the dress is being made. How amazing is that! Come to your appointment with an open mind and explain your ideas to your Bridal Stylist and after trying on a few gowns you will get a feel of which elements of each dress you love. All of these elements can then be brought together in one gown, for example the train from one dress, the bodice from another dress, the lace details from another dress! Love the dress but hate the straps? The designer can change them! The options are truly endless.
