Sample Sale February 2024

With fabulous new collections arriving in store this spring, we simply must clear some room on our rails in our bridal boutiques in Wimborne Dorset and Tangmere West Sussex.  To make some room we are having a huge sample sale! Please carry on reading to find out all you need to know! 

What is a sample sale? 

 A sample sale is when we sell off our sample gowns that we use in store for Brides to try on. These gowns have been tried on in store, and therefore may have minor imperfections. Because of this we offer a huge discount on the dress. Sometimes the dresses are old season and may have been discontinued by the designer, other times the dresses may be current season but we may have decided to sell the sample for a number of reasons, such as having similar dresses on their way to us as part of a new collection. 

 When is the Sample sale happening? 

For the WHOLE month of February! But when the dresses are gone they are gone! 

What happens at a sample sale appointment? 

 Sample sale appointments run the same as a regular appointment with us, we will discuss your wedding and ideas with you and help select a handful of dresses for you to try on. If you find one you love, you’ll have to say YES then and there as there is only ONE of each dress and the next bride may very well snap it up! After saying YES you will need to pay in full, and take your dress home with you on the day. Your dress will be given to you in a special cloth wedding dress bag where it will be perfectly preserved until your 1^st fitting appointment. 

Do I need an appointment? 

 Yes. We operate by private appointment only and require you to book your appointment prior so that a stylist can be dedicated to you only during this time. 

How does it work with sizing? 

 Because a new dress is not being made to order for you, the sample dress you buy must fit you relatively well. This will mean you might not be able to try on every gown in the store because if the dress is far too big or small for you, you will not be able to buy it! Your stylist will help to pick out the correct size gowns for you. Most gowns can be taken in by 1-2 dress sizes by a seamstress, however you cannot make a dress bigger! Please note alterations are a separate cost and we can put you in touch with our recommended seamstress. 

What can I do to prepare? 

 It is very important that you come to a sample sale knowing what you are looking for. These appointments are NOT for figuring out a style that suits you. Remember that a lot of these dresses are discontinued, so cannot be ordered in for you at a later date when you are ready to commit. If you fall in love with a dress, it will be gone if you go away and sleep on it. Come knowing the basics, what shape you want, whether you want plain or lots of detail, and any necklines that you particularly like or dislike. 

What designers are included in the sample sale? 

 We have dresses by a number of designers in the sample sale including Martina Liana, Enzoani, Enzoani Blue, Love, Essense of Australia and Disney Fairytale weddings. 

What if I have already ordered my dress with you and now it is in the sample sale? 

 We never know when a dress will be discontinued. Please remember that your order is for a brand-new dress, made specifically for you. The sample sale price is to buy the sample dress that is used in store for brides to try on, the sample dress is discounted due to this and the fact it may have imperfections. The dress that has been ordered for you is likely in a different size to what you tried on in store, and the option to buy the sample may not have even been applicable if it was the wrong size for you. 

Who shall I bring with me? 

 Bring 2-3 trusted members of your bridal party who you will want to be there when you have your YES moment!
